Went out'n about this beautiful Sunday to roam around a little town called Snoqualmie. Along the way we ran into the infamous 'Roadside Chainsaw Woodcarver'. We had to stop and see what was going on. Turned out to be an interesting visit with the owner and carver, Dan. You can check out the place at his website www.snoqualmiecarvers.com.
It's an interesting history Dan told us about. He and his wife moved up here from Souther California where he had a 30 year construction company. They moved north to be closer to a new granddaughter and early retirement. He taught himself the carving trade by watching others and taking notes during the many competitions held around the area. He has been selling them now for over 8 years and teaching it for 6! So if your interested and have 3 days, by all means, take up a new hobby. Looks fun and you get to play with power tools!

A good time was had by all and we acquired a new friend! Can't beat that! For those of you who do not live in the Pacific Northwest, PEMCO insurance has quite the AD campaign going on. Hi Mike -
My name is Joann and I work with a PR firm that works with PEMCO Insurance. I very much enjoyed reading your blog posting about PEMCO’s ad campaign. We agree it is a lot of fun, and we are excited that people like you enjoy it as well.
I don’t know if you read the Seattle PI, but one of the reporters, Bill Virgin, does a column each year in which he asks the community about ads they like, or don’t like. I thought that if you are still a fan of the “We're A Lot Like You” campaign, you might want to chime in. If you opt to share your thoughts, his e-mail address is billvirgin@seattlepi.com.
Thanks for your early blog, your support and your time in considering this.
BTW, stay tuned for a new set of ads coming soon!
Many thanks,
Joann
Dear Mike:
My name is Meredith and I work with PEMCO insurance. I read your posts last year with we launched our advertising campaign “We are a lot like you, a little different.” We are getting ready to introduce some new spots and wondering if you would like an advance look. If so, drop me a note with your e-mail and I will let you know how you can be among the first to see the new campaign.
